Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: June 3, 2026 · Last updated: June 3, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the MantisOps services. It is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service. By using MantisRMM, Mantis360, or any related service, you agree to this AUP.

1. You may not use the Services to:

1.1 Manage systems you don't control

  • Install agents or probes on devices you do not own or are not authorized in writing to manage
  • Scan IP ranges, networks, or services you do not own or have not been authorized to scan
  • Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability research, or "red team" activities against third parties without their explicit prior consent
This is the most common violation. MantisOps is built for IT teams, MSPs, and security operators to manage and assess their own environments. Using it to scan or manage systems you do not own or operate is a Terms of Service violation and may also be illegal under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (US), Computer Misuse Act (UK), or equivalent law in your jurisdiction.

1.2 Harm the platform or other customers

  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, authorization, or tenant isolation
  • Probe MantisOps infrastructure or other tenants for vulnerabilities
  • Interfere with the operation of the Services or any other customer's use of them
  • Deliberately overload or otherwise abuse our API or telemetry endpoints

1.3 Conduct unlawful or harmful activity

  • Use the Services to store, transmit, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, or infringes a third party's rights
  • Use the Services to send unsolicited bulk email, spam, or any form of unauthorized commercial communication
  • Use the Services to launch denial-of-service attacks, distribute malware, or operate command-and-control infrastructure
  • Use the Services in violation of export-control or sanctions law

1.4 Reverse-engineer the platform

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the agent, probe, or any other MantisOps software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits
  • Extract or scrape source code, schemas, or internal APIs for the purpose of building a competing service
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notice in our software or documentation

1.5 Resell or sublicense without consent

  • Resell, sublicense, white-label, or otherwise provide access to the Services to third parties without our prior written consent
  • MSPs and managed service operators are welcome — please reach out at sales@mantisops.net to discuss partner terms

1.6 Misuse remote control features

  • Use the MantisRMM remote desktop, terminal, or file browser to access systems without appropriate authorization from the device owner or end user
  • Where required by local employment law, you are responsible for providing notice to end users that the device is subject to remote monitoring

2. Authorization and consent

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have full legal authority to install MantisOps software on every device on which you install it
  • You have authority to scan every network range you configure for scanning
  • Where required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR, state privacy laws, employment regulations), you have provided notice and obtained any necessary consent from end users before deploying agents or running scans

3. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected AUP violations. We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate accounts engaged in violations
  • Remove or disable content that violates this AUP
  • Cooperate with law enforcement when required by law or when we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to protect the platform, our customers, or third parties

We will use reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action, except where doing so would prejudice an investigation, violate law, or risk further harm.

4. Reporting violations

To report abuse of the Services or a violation of this AUP, email abuse@mantisops.net.

To report a security vulnerability in MantisOps software or infrastructure, email security@mantisops.net. We commit to acknowledging vulnerability reports within 2 business days.

5. Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email at least 30 days before the effective date.
